One thing is..

I was thinking in the subway on my way work
on the similarity of Heisenberg's Uncertainty Principle
with the implication of 'Tao' 道..

The Chinese Philosopher said
Tao cannot be named, cannot be told, cannot be defined..
.. cannot be specified with anything materialized..

As soon as it becomes specified
the intrinsic virtue of Tao evaporates as nothing..
in which the implication exactly corresponds
to the great principle of uncertainty.

The other one is that..

I found Jim, a best friend of mine in here, a member of Freemasonry.
He is 4th ranked mason in Toronto.
His family has been a part of the mystic club
for more than 100 years in Scotland.

I would talk more on this with Jim..

도는 말로 설명되어질 수 없는데
도는 규정되어지는 순간..
이미 도가 아니다.

전자의 위치와 속도와 관련해
정확한 위치를 파악하는 순간
그가 가지는 운동량 즉 속도를 알 수 없으며
그가 움직이는 방향과 크기를 알때
그놈의 전자가 도데체 어디에 존재하는 지를 알 수 없는
위대한 하이델베르그 선각자의 우주적 발견과
그보다 훨씬 오래전 철학화된 도 (Tao)와의 유사성이..

오늘 아침 출근길에서
Dan Brown의 흥미진진한 과학 신비주의적 가정 속에
몸서리 치며 즐거워하는 내 생각의 사자에게
덮석 깨물어 먹을 고깃 덩어리들을 마구 던져 주고 있었다.

또 하나..
그 책을 읽고 있는 나를 본
나의 가장 친한 친구이자 골프 동반자인 Jim Caulfield 가
.. 사실 내가 프리매이슨 에서 4번째로 높은 Mason이지.. 토론토 에서는..
오마이갓..
그가 소위 그 비밀결사단체(소설에서의 과장을 보태면)의
회원이었다니!!
이런 흥미진진함이!!
스코틀랜드에서 아주 어릴적 이민을 온 그는
이미 그의 가문이 스코틀랜드에서 100여년이 넘게
Freemasonry의 회원 이었다는 것이다..

Jim과는 다음에 한잔하면서 이야기를 이어가기로 했는데..

이래 저래 난 신비주의에 의해 버무러지는
역사와 기호학, 그리고 현대과학이 주는
긴장과 지적 놀음에 푹 빠질 수 밖에 없게 될 모양이다..

I was so fascinated by the grandiose rock just below the Fall
that I tried to have mamimum zoom of my 200mm lense with more stable angle..
Just at the moment of pressing the shutter,
I got this beautiful seagull just into my angle..
What a luck!

When I first saw the rock
I felt a spirit of calmness and greatness
never been being shaken by whichever means.

Under the thundering sound of water fall..
under the pressure of tremendous amount of water pouring on top,
the Rock have been stading there year by year
hundreds and hundreds of years by years..
and will be there long long time..
.. nearly forever
compared to my tiny lifespan..
