a couple of beers with Mark, Elephant & Castle Toronto Feb 16 2011

Mark just got back from India of one month of travel with such good memories over the land of mysteries.
The trip was not the first time for him to the place, rather he is kind of an expert in the geography.
He has still passion for the country to know further however..

It's always good to hear about the continent from anybody
cause I am a big fan about their culture, landscape and historical richness & profoundness.

brutal reality sitting on top of their heads.. , Chennai-Mumbai Mail India Jun 2006

the man was there without carrying anything.. ridiculously enough..
wearing a towel on his neck for his own.
And it wasn't comfortable to see as far as my common sense was concerned.

Female workers were the major working force in the field in rural India.

the tombs.. soon to be washed away to reach Ganga.. , Chennai Express India 2006

I couldn't figure out immediately why they made the small grave yard very on the river bed of sands
when my train was slowly crossing the steel bridge over the dried sand river..

However as I took a look the photos a couple of times more
after I got back from the travel to the marvelous continent
I started thinking that the local people in the province might try to convey the coffin of the dead
to Ganga, a holy river, with the help of current of the river in the rainy season soon to come at that time..

when India meets France.. :p, Pondicherry India 2006

exquisite.. elegance.. colours.. softness.. silky.. breezy.. light..

These are the words I could go with the place of Pondicherry..
once a French colony in the continent..

Some people might have quite different set of words when they have a chance to visit this small city..
.. different market segment.. high end cultural product, value pricing.. design superior..
delighting to find out some business opportunities.

Through the history of time
when west met east or when north met south
there were lots of struggles in the form of war, governance, and dominance etc..
however what I witnessed in here were
kind of desirable harmony and fusion of the two cultures for better life together.

life is beautiful.. , Marina Beach Chennai India 2006

Making promising India more promising is that they have heathier poplution profile
compared to other developed or developing countries like Europe, Japan, US or Korea etc.
They have lot more young people who study hard and work diligently for their brighter future.

Happy new year and good luck guys~~ !

How sweet are the hopes and the pleasures of youth,
Ere misfortune has blighted their springs to the heart,
Ere the seeds of suspicion, and envy, and art,
Have supplanted the feelings of candour and truth!

In life's joyous morning, how glowing, how bright,
Are the dreams of the future--by Fancy inspired!
Like bubbles, that ere they are form'd have expired,
So vanish its sorrows, as transient, as light.

But soon, oh! too soon, must these feelings decay,
The storms of the world they can never survive;
And alas! when once gone they can never revive
To soothe or to brighten life's desolate way!

palm trees on the scene.., Chennai Express India Summer 2006

A Moments Indulgence

I ask for a moment's indulgence to sit by thy side.
The works that I have in hand I will finish afterwards.

Away from the sight of thy face my heart knows no rest nor respite,
and my work becomes an endless toil in a shoreless sea of toil.

Today the summer has come at my window with its sighs and murmurs; and
the bees are plying their minstrelsy at the court of the flowering grove.

Now it is time to sit quite, face to face with thee, and to sing
dedication of life in this silent and overflowing leisure.

.. Rabindranath Tagore

I'm sure that I was really lucky to have this kind of beautiful landscape of rural India
while running fast in the express train.. of course with the aid of my telescope lens..  :-)

life is beautiful.. , Chennai-Express India Summer 2006

Certainly because I don't have any connection with the living creature on this meadow
I have no other filters of thought other than just murmuring.. oh.. beautiful.. so peaceful..

My Chennai-Express was running with its maximum speed
when the train was traversing the Southern Western terrain of grasses and red soil in India.

Shepherds and the cows were standing firmly and proudly on earth.
And the scene made me feel that I was a man from quite different world far from here.
Indeed.. I was a man from the jungle of full of concrete, plastic, indulgence and greed..

As I saw the cows playing in the water I felt so cool and even purified.. :p
