Maman.. what a fabulous creativity.. , National Gallery of Canada, Ottawa Ontario Apr 25 2010

Louise Joséphine Bourgeois (25 December 1911 – 31 May 2010), was a renowned French-American artist and sculptor, best known for her contributions to both modern and contemporary art, and for her spider structures, titled Maman, which resulted in her being nicknamed the Spiderwoman.
Maman(1999), mommy in French, which resembles a spider, is over 30ft high, with a sac containing marble eggs. The title is French for Mommy. Besides the stainless steel version owned by the Tate Modern, London, there are several bronze casts, located at:

- Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art, Kansas City, Missouri
- National Gallery of Canada, Ottawa
- State Hermitage Museum, St. Petersburg
- Guggenheim Museum Bilbao
- Mori Art Museum, Roppongi, Tokyo
- Institute of Contemporary Art, Boston
- Samsung Museum of Modern Art (Leeum), Seoul
- Jardin des Tuileries, Paris
- Havana, Cuba
- Hirshhorn Museum Washington, D.C.
- Pappajohn Sculpture Park Des Moines, Iowa

The bronze sculpture is no longer in London, Paris, Boston or Washington, D.C. as the deployment of the work in these locations had in each case been a temporary instillation.

A Martian Invader, Contemporay Art, Distillery District Toronto May 20 2009

Single eyed mummified Martian was standing there still.. don't know when he got captured but all of a sudden to my surprise, the geometrically well-balanced creature was there.. I liked him anyway..

the Cosmopolitan Creature, The Distillery District Toronto May 20 2009

As grotesque as you can imagine.. right?
It might be a doomsday creature to be born in inferno at the end of the day.. amazing processing of the glittering skin with fractalized pattern.. wow..
