Franz Schubert..Die Forelle: Karita Mattila

Winterreise : 5. Der Lindenbaum

He comes to the linden tree, with its pale flowers and heart-shaped leaves. that stands at the gate; in the shade of this tree he has dreamt many beautiful dreams, and in the bark he has carved words of love. It was his favourite place. Now he passes it with his eyes shut, even though it is deepest night, but the branches rustle to him, 'Come here old comrade, find your rest here'. A gust of wind blows his hat off, and many hours afterwards he remembers the tree, and it seems to say 'You should have found your rest here.' It is a tacit invitation to suicide.

So Cooool... Product Dynamics in the traditional market, Chungbu Market Seoul Korea Jul 17 2009

i felt like i was standing in the middle of museum
of dried sea food.. :p

you know what..
i could touch them, smell them..
even taste them!!
how dare can you try to do that in the museum! :ppp

what i did first as i arrived my hometown Seoul
was just visiting the traditional market in downtown
very early in the morning.. 5:30! :-)

market is one of those places
i could feel the true scent of lively living.

very diligent, hard working, and equipped with humor,..
they are always ready to have some sort of short conversation
with you on life over the plastic bag with dried food..

tell me what would you like to do on the bench? :-) , 쌈지건물 인사동 Insadong Jongro Seoul Korea Jul 18 2009

you might say..
.. sitting with no agitation for meditation..
or.. just having a cup of hot tea of rosemary..
with both hands grabbing the cup & smiling faintly..
reflecting something gone..

.. me.. ?
..
.. dazzlingly deeeeeep kiss.. of course..
.. whether the passers-by surprise or not.. :ppp

뒷골목 Behind the Scene in the Downtown, Insadong Jongro Seoul Korea Jul 21 2009

Entanglement is always coexistent in the right behind
the clear cut facades of the pompous skyscrapers in the city.

For me it gives some level of comfort and feeling of balance
as life goes with the disarrangement and disorder
based on its inevitable complexity..

I see a man walking solely out of the back alley
and I feel sort of comradeship in life with him
than anybody else wearing silky dark suit with nice shirt
entering & disappearing to a gorgeous office building
through the glassy revolving door.. as I mostly used to do..

Je chante avec toi liberté, Kwanghwamoon Seoul Korea Jul 22 2009

Wandering all around the city
I was literally a lonely vagabond
not only in physical sense
but from wholly logical perspective as well.

I found myself having weirdly different paradigm
than my colleagues in ex-companies, my new friends,
as well as my very old friends..

living in quite different place
in the other part of the globe,
longing for unrealistic idea,
still standing firmly on the ground of my own though,
pursuing totally different new world..

No choice but to be alone at any moment..

Why chorus of slaves??
I don't know..
no meaning..
just like the melody..
sounds like relevantly reflecting the liberty for everything..

.. Just fly higher & further..
YOU are the liberty...

Inversion and Humor..? 인사동 Kwanhoon Gallery 관훈갤러리 Insadong Seoul Korea Aug 3 2009

They say he is good at 'Inversion' and 'Humor'
which I couldn't find anywhere from his..
It is quite a comic, for me, like B-level cartoon.. too typical ..

Where his creativity goes...??

松間盛市 Seoul, You to Me..Me to You.. , Inwangsan Mtn 인왕산 Seoul Korea Jul 29 2009

600 years old city of Seoul..
Quite crowded with too many things..
But also it goes well along with good dynamics of everything by everybody..

I see the panoramic view of such vast number of people covering all kind of conceiving forms of life..

I had lived almost 40 years in the city.
Though I traveled other countries a lot mostly for business,
my hometown for return was always Seoul.

Not anymore..
I am just visiting the old city as a visitor.
No more residential information for me in the city.
Permanent resident in Canada.. that's what I'm categorized in now..
Quite different feeling
which I've never experienced before.

Bye for now my lovely city..

He & his family was staying at my home while he was visiting Toronto last year. This time in Seoul he asked me to come to Myungdong in downtown where his project office was located in for customers in finance industry. As a senior managing consultant for IBM he has been busy in delivering project at all time.

Thanks Inkee for hosting me in this great 40 years old restaurant for traditional dishes with lovely rice wine Maggulee 막걸리 which were really awesome awesome in taste!!

夜心 Here comes the night in town, Myungdong Ave Downtown Seoul Korea Jul 21 2009

In the summer night in town
it is good to see people strolling here and there
hand in had with no haste.

In the trailing end of the monsoon season
I was lucky enough to have the cool pleasant breeze in the downtown.

Though they are still in the middle of economic crackdown
I see many people who are ready to pay whatever they like to eat, drink or wear..
