the Musicians, Kensington Market Jun 22 Toronto 2008

When I look back all the people I've been interacting so far, musicians are the least contaminated group of people. Far detached from any mundane value in the world, they just focus on their own music and they enjoy. Not many musicians can live with only money they can earn over performance so they need to have another work for living. They are happy though. People look beautiful when they do whatever they really like to do. For writers, painters or composers, I see lots of pain of creation. They need to squeeze their brain to create a plot, to compose a melody or lyric and to create the colors they satisfy. But the performers, once they initially mastered, they usually get more matured as they repeat the similar repertoire again and and again. And their level of satisfaction over their own performance gets higher and higher. Whenever I have conversation with these guys, I feel like I talk to lively children. I like them and actually envy them much.

Navigator Doggie, Westlake Ontario Jul 6 2008

One of the happiest dog in the world.. The owner was so proud of him or her.

Sometimes it's really good to see, actually observe, some creatures not having any evilly characteristics.. like good animal or good tree or good clouds or good snowflakes. I feel really sick of the evil aspect of human including myself given by God at the expense of freewill.

꽃보다 이쁜, 일하는 당신! Flowers! Flowers for You, Flower Market Chennai India Jun 2006

Hard working people looked much prettier than the flowers. Smell of sweating was far pleasant than the luxury smell of perfumes of good-looking girls. I really appreciate the smiles they willingly shared with me...

버스 안 사람들 People In the Bus, Chennai India Jun 2006

I felt more relaxed when I took the bus in the metropolitan city of Chennai. Big city all the time gives us some room for hiding under anonymity. As a different looking tourist, I didn't feel any tension from people in the historic city which was very nice..

都市誕生記念 Building on History, York Quay Center Toronto Mar 5 2009

There is a gallery of architecture inside the Harbourfront Art Center in Harbour Front area and I found pretty interesting exhibition of 'Building on History'. On the huge map of Toronto, they physically pin-pointed buildings or houses they captured and numbered, and they posted all the post-card size photos on the other side of the wall so that people could navigate through the city with photos and the map. Quite fresh & creative project.. I thought.

官能嬌尊 the Sensuality, Visual Art Exhibition at Harbor Front Center Toronto Mar 5 2009

Those paper high-heels were so cool and quite sensual.. :p
I radically adjusted the lighting and put much more contrast.. hopefully the artist likes the variation if she has a chance to see my photos.

冬霧夜想曲 Sherlock Holmes' Favorite Night, Queen Street Toronto Feb 11 2009

Foggy chilly night in Queen street, Jorba the Greek might be sitting in the cozy bar at the corner over rum with other drunken big mouths surrounding him. But our Holmes starts investigating the mystery case of foggy night murder with frock coat on and grabbing his pipe softly in his hand. I like the two characters of quite opposite extremes.. :p

鐵路上母情 A Mom Sitting on the Rail, Chennai Express India Jun 2006

She was sitting on the rail under the sunshine in the afternoon. I used to sitting on the rail in my childhood as well. I liked the shiny silky warm steel rail though it's not wide enough for comfortable sitting. My express train was just passing by her with big noise & vibration of diesel engine but she was just sitting in there not disturbed without any movement. Pressure of her life might be far heavier than the regular noise or she might be too much absorbed by reading a letter from one of her children working in big city far from home village.

Now I see her round back with bright scarf with sunshine and the scene makes me feel so warm and happy. Hopefully she is quite ok.. :-)

Flying under the Full Moon, From Saigon Jan 14 2006

Usually there is nothing joyful for the night flight other than just trying hard to sleep with the help of couple of glasses of whisky. But sometimes, if I'm lucky enough, I might have a full moon on top of my head in the dark night. When I got back from Hochimin City to Seoul, I experienced a quite different flight. Under the pale moon light, the jet was gliding through the dark night without any turbulence or noise of engine. It was so peaceful and grave, and different. And I just nonchalantly saw the red light blinking at the tip of the wing without any focus of attention of my sight..

I felt like I was on my flying carpet.. And the thought reached me of 'Aribaba and Forty Thieves' and of course 'Aladin and Magic Lamp'. Sometimes, many times in my case, it's good to just let the feeling fly over the world of fairy tale or fantasy which is totally detached from reality.. How can I stick to the planning of more-revenue-with-less-cost thing during the flight under the full moon admitting that I am not that nerd-ish workaholic.. :p

爲波樂歌 Photoworks with the Surf Rockers, Bar at Kensington Market Toronto Jun 2008

There was a small birthday party for one of the supporters of the Calizians, surf rock group. Excellent performance of old surf rocks, Misirlou, Pipeline, Pink Panther.., dancing on the small floor and a piece of birthday cake.. I enjoyed a lot while I was doing my photo works.
